Our Services

Acupuncture: 45-60 minutes/session to address your specific health concerns $85-$180/session.    Treatments may also include:

  • moxibustion (heat therapy)
  • tuning forks (superficial application of vibration)
  • cupping (application of 'suction' cups)
  • tui na (Chinese Medicine massage)
  • gua sha (superficial technique for opening the pores of the skin)
  • acupressure
  • dietary therapy
  • herbal medicine

Pediatric acupuncture: 20-30 minutes/session to address health concerns for kids including, digestive concerns, sleeping irregularities, frequent colds and infections, recurrent fevers, and more $60-$100/session. Treatments may include:

  • acupuncture needles (needles are inserted shallow and quickly)
  • moxibustion (heat therapy)
  • tuning forks (superficial application of vibration)
  • cupping (application of 'suction' cups)
  • tui na (Chinese Medicine massage)
  • gua sha (superficial technique for opening the pores of the skin)
  • acupressure
  • dietary therapy
  • herbal medicine

Chinese herbal medicine: Herbal medicine is most often bundled into acupuncture sessions, the only additional charge is for the herbs themselves. Our herbal formulas are custom ordered for you, the fee is dependent on the herbal formula required and we are happy to give you the total cost of your formula prior to placing the order. Typically, herbal formulas range in cost anywhere from $10-$50/week that treatment is necessary. The length of herbal treatments varies depending on the condition being treated.

Privacy

In order to ensure your privacy and safety, we follow HIPAA guidelines to keep your personal information confidential. If you would like a copy of our policies and/or procedures or further information, please contact us by phone or email.

Insurance

Insurance: We accept (in-network) many insurance plans including:

  • Premera (excluding Microsoft)
  • Lifewise
  • Aetna
  • Cigna
  • Uniform

If you need assistance understanding your insurance coverage, please call us, we are happy to help look into your benefits for you. If we are out-of-network with your insurance, we are happy to submit the billing paperwork to your insurance carrier for you, but we may require payment up front. Please let us know if you have any questions about the financial aspect of your care, we are happy to work within any financial situation.

Payment

To make payment easy, we accept cash, personal check, and all major credit cards. Many Chinese medicine expenses are reimbursable by health savings and flex spend accounts. Please let us know if you need paperwork for these reimbursements.

The Practitioner:

Tristin McLaren, EAMP/LAc, CCE

Tristin holds a Master's Degree in Acupuncture from Bastyr University and a Bachelor's from the University of Washington in Anthropology with an emphasis on Medical Anthropology. She is a Licensed East Asian Medicine Practitioner (EAMP; formerly called Licensed Acupuncturist or LAc) in Washington State and is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She is also a Certified Childbirth Educator from Childbirth International. Tristin has extensive clinical training from Bastyr Center for Natural Health and Harborview Medical Center where she addressed a variety of health conditions under the supervision of some of the leading Chinese Medicine practitioners in the Seattle area.

Tristin has spent the last year in intense study of Classical Chinese Medicine and it's use in fertility treatment with Yaron Seidman, DAOM of Hunyuan Fertility.  The past several years prior she studied reproductive medicine and pregnancy with some of the top Chinese Medicine practitioners in this specialty including Sharon Weizenbaum, LAc, Debra Betts, LAc, Jane Lyttleton, LAc, Brandon Horn, LAc, and many others. She is also an advocate for The Birth Survey part of the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services (CIMS) and a member of La Leche League International (LLLI). She has two children, both born at home attended by wonderful midwives.
